The UC Davis Library is seeking an experienced strategic leader to serve as Head of the Blaisdell Medical Library (BML). BML supports the education, research, and clinical missions of UC Davis’s comprehensive academic health sciences center. The library’s serves a primary community of more than 20,000 faculty, staff, and learners from two medical and health sciences colleges (the UC Davis School of Medicine and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing), as well as all hospitals and biomedical research institutes. BML is staffed by experienced personnel that provide instruction and research consultations, and access to electronic and physical collections.

This is an exciting time for a new leader to join our organization with the UC Davis Library’s new strategic plan focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the Sacramento health sciences campus growth with the new Aggie Square innovation district, and increasing efforts to promote and expand cross-disciplinary research and ideation.

BML is located in beautiful Sacramento, California (ranked by Forbes in 2023 as the best place to live in California). Sacramento is California’s state capital, with delicious and diverse farm-to-fork cuisine, 90 minutes away from beautiful Lake Tahoe and world-class snow activities, and 90 minutes away from bustling San Francisco and serene Northern California beaches.
