Research, Outreach, and Engagement Librarian
Description
The University of Idaho Library is seeking an innovative, flexible, and highly collaborative Research, Outreach, and Engagement Librarian. Reporting to the Dean, the Research, Outreach, and Engagement Librarian is responsible for working within the Library’s new Research and Experiential Learning (REL) unit to ensure that library services meet the needs of students and faculty in STEM fields. The REL unit encompasses such programs as research data and GIS services, making and fabrication spaces, and an audio/visual innovation lab. The Research, Outreach, and Engagement Librarian will build relationships and partnerships with student groups, departments, centers, or institutes in the STEM fields. They will conduct and guide the development of workshops, online instruction tools, video tutorials, and outreach activities. They will also provide programmatic support and vision for adapting and expanding research support services, such as research impact/bibliometric services and data management consultations. The Research, Outreach and Engagement Librarian will participate in the REL team’s portfolio management process and collaborate with the unit head and other team leads to make decisions regarding projects and service investments. The successful candidate for this position will have an opportunity to define this new position through their creativity, enthusiasm, and vision.
This is a 12-month fiscal year, tenure track faculty position.
