POSITION DESCRIPTION The library assistant works independently, however, the library assistant’s work is subject to review when the solution of problems involves new interpretations of applications of established guidelines. The Library Assistant 5 manages all aspects of the overnight operations of the access and resource team and multiple advanced administrative tasks for the access and resource team, including, but not limited to basic library operations on Sunday through Thursday, 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The library assistant transitions the library to overnight access; collaborates with Library and University Public Safety to manage access to the facility and emergencies; provides support to maintain collections; prepares the building and equipment for opening services and may supervise library assistants, student workers, and other support staff. The library assistant works collaboratively to develop policies and procedures, create manuals, implement new procedures and systems, and plans and implements special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS High school education with related 6 years of experience required, Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience, or Bachelor degree and no experience.
