Description
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an organized, collaborative, and collegial individual for the position of Digital Projects Librarian in the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center (http: digitalnc.org ). The North Carolina Digital Heritage Center is a statewide digital library program housed in the North Carolina Collection at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Digital Heritage Center provides digitization and digital publishing services to cultural heritage institutions across North Carolina. The Center has worked with more than 100 institutions around the state on a wide variety of digital projects.
Educational Requirements
ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science.
Qualifications and Experience
Required ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science. Experience working on digital collections in a library, museum, or archival setting, including the description of materials using accepted metadata standards. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, to successfully balance competing priorities, and to work with inflexible deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment. Successful experience managing complex projects and or workflows. Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Preferred Experience working on multi-institution collaborative projects. Experience with the CONTENTdm digital collections management software. Knowledge of North Carolina history, literature, and culture.
