East Asian Cataloging Librarian

Description

The University of Iowa Libraries seeks an innovative and collaborative librarian for the position of East Asian Cataloging Librarian. Reporting to the Director, Cataloging, Metadata, & Digitization Department (CMD), this person will perform original and complex copy cataloging in all formats and across all subjects with a focus on Chinese- or Japanese-language resources, requiring the ability to apply general cataloging principles to one or more additional languages. This person will contribute to department level planning and the formulation of cataloging policies and procedures by active participation in meetings and digital communications and fulfill a leadership role of a professional in the CMD Department through cataloging activities and the sharing of expertise and innovative ideas.

Hybrid Remote Option Within State of Iowa: This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies. Details to be discussed at time of interview.
