The university library specialist provides research assistance to students, faculty, and staff of the university at the reference desk and by telephone, email, and chat software between 12 and 18 hours per week; assists reference librarians in the creation and production of digital research guides; maintains and updates portions of the unit’s webpages; collects and tabulates unit statistics; designs and maintains appropriate spreadsheets for those statistics; creates the monthly reference desk schedule; and works with/leads student employees or interns. Other library-oriented projects may be assigned based on departmental needs and the interests/skills of the specialist.
