Description
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries seek an experienced Ruby-on-Rails developer to work on our public facing discovery and related applications. You would be joining an 8 member development team to work closely with very experienced and skilled developer colleagues, librarians, and a team of Linux system administrators, who support our production and development environments.
UW-Madison Libraries have developed our own coordinated discovery platform with the aim of providing an excellent discovery experience tuned to the characteristics of discovery categories--articles, catalog, databases, digital collections, while spanning categories through an underlying suggestions service. We have recently extended our catalog category to incorporate search results for other libraries and to integrate Ex Libris’s new Rapido Resource Sharing tools using their APIs.
We’re looking for a developer who will help us continue to innovate and experiment in discovery with the long-term objective of supporting the BTAA’s initiatives around the BIG Collection.
Remote work is preferred for this position.
