Responsibilities

The Digital Asset Management Intern will…

  • Catalog system assets using best practices for describing records
  • Follow metadata standards, adhere to language/formatting guidelines and use controlled vocabularies
  • Clean, transform, and reconcile data using spreadsheet or other data tools
  • Perform quality control for records
  • Assist in the development of DAM system user tutorials and documentation
  • Help onboard and train new users

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate-level MSIS or MLIS program
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Any experience cataloging records in an academic, library, or archives setting preferred
  • Interest in digital asset management, metadata standards, databases, and rights management
  • Knowledge of Dublin Core, XMP, IPTC, VRA, and Getty AAT metadata standards a plus
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and rights management
