Capital University Law Library is searching for a new colleague to join us as our new Law Reference Librarian. This is a full-time position, but will be expected to work 4 evenings and 1 weekend day each week. Exact hours/days are negotiable, but this position is the support for our evening program. This is considered an entry level position, and we will accept candidates who already have a JD but are still working on their MLS.
Capital University Law Library is in the midst of a major transition as it transforms to a 21st Century Law Library. The Law Library's Mission, Vision and Values have recently been revisited, and its latest Collection Development Plan was recently approved. Reporting to the Director of Law Library, the Law Reference Librarian will join a dynamic and visionary team of professionals, and will specifically focus on providing high quality and timely legal research services, including reference services, non-credit bearing research instruction, interlibrary loan assistance, and answering basic research questions. In addition to general reference services, the Law Reference Librarian will work collaboratively with other library staff members on collection development, event programming, and Lexis and Westlaw vendor representative coordination. The Law Reference Librarian serve the evening and weekend needs of the law school faculty, staff, and students, as well as the paralegal program.
