Duties
The User Experience and Engagement Sector is comprised of three branches: Programs and Engagement; Research and Access; and Communications and Policy. The Director General of Communications and Policy leads the following components: corporate communications, strategic policy and inclusion. He or she provides visionary leadership to deliver plans and products that promote awareness and understanding of Canada's documentary heritage, and implements solutions aligned with the evolving role of memory institutions and the user needs.
More specifically, he or she leads the development and implementation of LAC's communication plans and products, as well as the development and implementation of policy instruments. He or she provides assertive leadership in order to ensure ongoing internal dialogue, foster a spirit of collaboration, and support LAC's commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. He or she maintains a network of government partners (PCO, JUS, etc.) in order to ensure coordination and monitoring of the public environment.
