Software Engineer- Hybrid
Description
This position will be involved with web-based user interface design as well as web application development. This position will work to maintain and upgrade existing software applications written in a variety of programming languages as well as write new software based on specifications provided.
Current software developed in the Libraries includes:
- Archival Digital Asset Management System (MFCS)
- Library Research or Teaching Related software (Databases, Directory, etc.)
- The Congressional Constituent Data Tool
- Development of Digital Collections using Samvera/Fedora
The ideal candidate should have an interest in learning new technologies and programming languages.
The incumbent must communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, as well as be able to work as part of team with members of varying levels of technical expertise. The ideal candidate will work with the systems development team, as well as library faculty and staff to help determine the best software solutions to meet the Libraries needs in a collaborative environment.
