Description

EBSCO's Stacks division in Edmonton, Alberta, seeks a Systems Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will support the enhancement and customization opportunities for the Stacks product line by identifying the technical, user experience and workflow requirements for new features, functionality, and 3rd party platform integrations. The Junior Systems Analyst will serve as the intermediary between customers and the EBSCO development and implementation teams.

As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated experience in business or systems analysis. Detail and results orientated, you excel in a team and remote work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Project delivery, including day-to-day project and backlog management, monitoring and review of dependencies, issues, and risks
  • Business analysis, engaging with customers and other stakeholders to evaluate and improve Stacks' technology processes, systems, and services
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the team's best practices, templates, and tools

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst, Digital Project Manager, or similar
  • Experience working with software developers in an Agile development environment
  • Experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders, including requirements elicitation, user acceptance testing, use case development, gap analysis 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in PHP, JavaScript, Python, SQL, CSS, and other tools and languages commonly employed in web projects
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Atlassian JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passionate about EBSCO products with a focus on solid customer service
  • Experience in RESTFUL API development and writing API documentation
  • Experience in writing functional tests
  • Knowledge of library systems or library services platforms
  • Knowledge of Identity Management protocols, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and adeptness at conducting research
