Description

Lingua Logica is looking for a Data Lifecycle Manager/Metadata Specialist to aid in the end-to-end publication and distribution of scientific data products. For this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality metadata records for NASA Earth science data products, and managing data products throughout the product lifecycle. You will work closely with software engineers, other metadata curators, and management to help shepherd data products through the publication process. Possibility for remote work. 

Responsibilities

•       Help develop solutions for storing and retrieving metadata and other information related to the processing, publication, and distribution of scientific data products

•       Create and maintain high-quality metadata records for a wide variety of Earth science data products

•       Help analyze requirements for software and applications to support the processing, publication, and distribution of scientific data products

•       Contribute to process improvement planning and implementation

•       Coordinate with management, science teams, and software engineers to identify future needs and requirements

•       Document processes and workflows

•       Help troubleshoot and debug metadata-related software issues

Requirements

•       Excellent critical thinking and communication skills

•       High-level understanding of databases, data structures, and design patterns helpful, but not required

•       Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements helpful, but not required

•       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

•       Bachelor’s Degree in Library Sciences or other relevant field

•       Bonus points if you can write a decent Python script

•       Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
