General Description
The Electronic Services/Reference Librarian enhances the educational opportunities of students through the implementation of a system that provides information services, focusing on electronic services, as directed within available resources and policies and procedures.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Use current, new and emerging technologies to develop and maintain web-based and electronic services to enhance information literacy and access to library resources and services.

Explore and develop opportunities to integrate library resources, instruction and services into the curriculum.

Utilize the content management system (CMS) to provide changes and updates to the Library website in cooperation with the College web administrator.

Provide information services to the College community during scheduled hours and provide coverage in the absence of scheduled librarians.

Provide bibliographic instruction to groups and individuals as required and assist with the development of bibliographic instruction resources and services.

Implement a system of collection development which integrates materials in paper, electronic and other appropriate formats. Use regular evaluations of the collection, including needs analysis done in conjunction with departmental program reviews, to guide acquisitions decisions.

Use collection development, evaluation and periodic weeding to maintain a current collection within assigned subject areas and contribute to the Library’s collection as a whole.

Assist the Reference Librarian in the annual collection evaluation, which includes a collection analysis of current materials, corresponding to program reviews.

Act as library liaison with assigned divisions and attend regularly scheduled division meetings.

Serve as second floor Floor Captain as required by the College Risk Management Office.

Complete mutually agreed upon projects as assigned.

Use formal and informal means to communicate information about the Library to potential users.

Be involved in the activities of the College through services on appropriate and mutually agreed upon college committees.

Minimum Education/Experience
American Library Association (ALA) accredited Masters in Library Science or ALA accredited Masters in Library and Information Science or equivalent ALA accredited Masters degree.

Library work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge and extensive experience with personal computers, mobile devices, online library databases, library eBook platforms and other electronic resources

Working knowledge and experience with web programming languages or web content management systems

Working knowledge of screencasting software and other library related computer technologies

Working knowledge and experience with integrated library systems

Recent reference and library instruction experience

Positive oral and written communication skills
