Description

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. LANL Research Library seeks an innovative Research Impact Librarian who can deliver essential knowledge services in support of the Laboratory’s mission to solve national security challenges. You will collaborate with library project teams and laboratory scientists and engineers on research impact, citation analysis and practices, and documentation for promotion and award packages. We will also rely on you to collaborate with researchers, develop publishing and dissemination strategies, track publications, and assess research impact through a variety of metrics.

Note that this position will be filled at either the Library Professional 2 or 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association and 5 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association and 8 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in creating visualizations.
  • Demonstrated experience with APIs such as CrossRef, Web of Science and/or Scopus.
