Salary: $3000
Created: March 16, 2021

Description

Description

Thanks to a generous grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), we are seeking a JavaScript developer to help with an academic project—The Hieratic Sign Search Tool—which entails the development of a web frontend for a larger (Python-Django) database application. Candidates should be able to create web-based user interfaces and data visualizations. Strong preference is given to current undergraduate students with a background in Computer Science/Engineering who are willing to work remotely part-time. Candidates will be selected based on a portfolio—though these may be smaller in scale than the work to be done for this project—and an in-person (remote) interview. Candidates must reside, and be legally authorized to work, in the United States.

Hours & Compensation

The consulting fee for this work is $3,000, to be paid in four (4) $750 installments: March 29, April 29, June 29, July 28. We anticipate that the chosen candidate will spend 50 hours per month on JavaScript development.

Dates

The term of the position covers the 2021 spring semester and may stretch into the summer of 2021 as necessary. The application deadline is March 22, 2021. Work begins on March 29, 2021 and will continue until July 28, 2021.

How to Apply

Please send your current CV and a short (half-page to one-page) cover-letter describing your education/experience and interest in the position to cdc6@nyu.edu. Please include with the cover letter a list of web-accessible past projects.
