Your job with us…
The Digital Scholarship Librarian contributes to democratizing access and provides leadership for planning and oversight of digital project work. Actively provides consultations; serves as a digital engagement research and service partner through community consultation and sustainable planning for digitally created projects to advance the libraries open initiatives. Reports to the Director of Open Archives and Discovery.

What you bring…
Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Computer literate and technologically adept. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficiency in Windows Operating System and file management.
Preferred: Master’s degree in library and information science or related graduate degree. Two (2) years of increasingly responsibility in management or an academic library setting. Two (2) years supervisory experience of student, staff, and professional librarian and/or archivist employees. Experience in the following areas: digital projects management, web and interface design, digital curation of institutional repositories, or metadata. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Experience with needs assessment, partnership development, and grant writing. Management experience with competing priorities and work with inflexible deadlines. Experience with current and emerging technologies and their application in academic libraries, including digitization standards, processes, and technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work enthusiastically with flexibility and creativity in a student-centered environment. Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to foster a positive working environment and model the Libraries’ values through daily actions and behaviors. Working knowledge of various metadata schema (e.g. Dublin Core, EAD, MODS) and controlled vocabularies (TGMI &II, Getty). Ability to influence, negotiate and liaise effectively with a wide range of colleagues in a complex organization. Knowledge of the research process and evolving models of scholarly communication. Advanced project planning and management skills. Ability to lead, cultivate, and empower staff. The ability to provide leadership in project management and experience in working with disparate groups to achieve mutual goals and completion of projects. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with effective time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively, including excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written skills. Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to transfer and apply knowledge and experience to new situations. Ability to analyze situations and make sound decisions. Ability to excel in a “perpetual beta” environment, with frequent change and intelligent risk-taking.
