The Hoover Institution at Stanford University is seeking enthusiastic and growth-focused candidates for the Digital Asset Librarian position within the Library & Archives. The two year fixed-term position supports the Digital First/Virtual Library Initiative and general operations.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Hoover Institution Library & Archives (HILA) is seeking a Digital Asset Librarian whose principle role will to perform complex technical work associated with the development of the HILA’s digital repository; to document institution-wide standards, workflows, and policies; and to manage the ingestion, organization, and migration of all digital assets contained in legacy systems as well as those associated with the Digital First/Virtual Library Initiative. This initiative aims to deliver large-scale digitization of the Library & Archives’ collections for scholarly and community uses.
This position supports the organization and maintenance of HILA’s digital assets to facilitate the long-term preservation of and enduring access to HILA’s born-digital and reformatted special collections resources, in a variety of formats (i.e, still images, video and audio recordings, text, etc.) to support research.
The successful candidate must have knowledge in archives and demonstrate an enthusiasm to work collaboratively, towards integrating the digital assets across the HILA digital repository and demonstrates strong commitment to the access/accessibility and ethics of digital collections and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data.
