Digital Services Manager
Description
The Hoover Institution Library & Archives is seeking a client-focused/user-centered Digital Services Manager whose principle role will be to ensure the effective coordination, communication, and design of services, products, and activities associated with the Digital First/Virtual Library Initiative. This initiative aims to deliver large-scale digitization of the Library & Archives’ collections for scholarly and community uses.
The Digital Services Manager will be primarily responsible for coordinating all aspects of digital curation lifecycle (i.e., creation/acquisition, management/preservation, discovery/access) to ensure workflow, QC, and budgetary requirements are met. In addition, the Digital Services Manager will manage products that facilitate the discovery of, access to, and engagement with digitized content that includes a mix of general and archival collections, languages, formats, and object types. Digital Services Manager will work closely with a diverse multi-departmental team and directly supervise support staff and student assistants.
The successful candidate will have expertise for managing collaborative, multi-faceted projects; have considerable technical expertise in the area of digital curation and digital content delivery; have significant leadership, interpersonal skills, and communication skills; and demonstrates strong commitment to the access/accessibility and ethics of digital collections and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data.
