Minimum Qualifications

• An ALA-accredited degree or equivalent

• Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript and functional knowledge of at least one other programming language (PHP preferred)

• Demonstrated knowledge of content management systems (Drupal preferred)

• Experience with training related to web technologies, software, tools, and solutions

• Experience with or knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and implementation

• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Articulate policies and procedures, maintain, and develop the Library's web presence 

• Develop the library’s mobile web presence.

• Maintain and develop the library’s intranet

• Work with stakeholders (faculty, admin, staff, students) to design/redesign/assess library’s web presence

• Conduct/coordinate usability studies of website

• Maintain awareness of emerging trends in web design

• Chair Web Working Group and work with content managers to maintain web content

• Work with Communication Committee to coordinate social media presence

• Represent the library and work with campus IT counterparts

• Serve as an expert in web technologies for library staff/faculty

• Participate in a robust library instruction program

• Meet library faculty guidelines for promotion and tenure, including requirements for scholarship and service to the library, the university, and the profession.
