Description
The Knowlton School of Architecture at Ohio State University is looking for a full-stack web developer to guide our digital library, main site & web-based collaboration platform. Full description and requirements listed at the link provided.Summary of Duties: Responsible for development of all aspects of the Knowlton School of Architecture (KSA) web presence; works with a variety of technical and nontechnical staff to design and create web applications; works with the School’s communication task force to implement the design of the School’s public-facing website; maintains internal collaborative platform for students and faculty; provides development support for digital library platform; provides web application support for multiple projects and training for users updating content on all sites; administers small budget and supervises multiple student assistants; participates in several groups external to the KSA to stay current on latest technologies; works closely with IT staff to maintain web and database server, within the framework of OCIO security standards and guidelines; consults with accessibility and usability experts on campus; creates detailed documentation as a part of the development process in order to ensure ongoing support of applications.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in computer and information science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated experience in: Web UI design, development and service including mastery of CSS, Javascript, XML, HTML/XHTML, PHP, Shibboleth, MySQL, IIS , Tomcat, Apache, content management systems, ideally Drupal, UI design methodology, user-centered design, code version control, quality assurance and testing.
Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in: Solr; XSLT/XPath; Git; Web UI frameworks (JQuery, 960 Grid); data normalization modeling; responsive design; ADA reqs and security standards and methods for compliance; ability to take initiative and document procedures; strong problem solving and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
