Digital Scholarship Librarian
Description
The DiMenna-Nyselius Library seeks applications from innovative, collaborative, intellectually curious, and self-motivated librarians for the opening of digital scholarship librarian. This individual will provide leadership in the development, implementation, promotion and assessment of digital scholarly initiatives on campus. The digital scholarship librarian will provide consultations and workshops on tools, techniques, and methodologies that advance and sustain innovative digital projects, and will develop a plan for integrating digital scholarship into the information literacy mission of the library. Additionally, this librarian will provide research services, participate in both the Library’s instruction and partnership program. This position will include occasional evening and weekend hours.
REQUIREMENTS: A graduate degree in Library & Information Science (MLS or equivalent) from an ALA accredited program. Practical knowledge of and experience with a range of tools, technologies, and platforms such as textual analysis, data visualization, mulitimodal publishing, or digital exhibits. Strong project management experience. Evidence of potential in teaching. Professional academic research service experience. Interest in marketing, outreach, and the promotion of library services. Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences. Must be results oriented, organized, flexible, self-motivated, have an enthusiasm for teaching and technology, and an ability to collaborate with colleagues in a goal-oriented library team. Must be organized and able to meet deadlines and multiple demands. A commitment to responsive and innovative service is essential.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE: Second Master’s degree.
