Assistant Information Technology Officer (Systems & Digital Services)
Description
Duties
Reporting to Senior Assistant Librarian (Systems & Digital Services), the appointee will work with a team of Library staff members to develop, implement and support the Library’s information systems and digital service initiatives. He/She will be required to:
a) provide ongoing support for existing web application;
b) preform coding and contribute substantively in developing web application with focus on digital applications;
d) assist in evaluating, installing and trouble-shooting new software and digital systems;
e) provide technical support to Library users and staff at the Library’s Technical Help Desk;
f) prepare data analysis and statistical reports;
g) perform shift duties; and
h) perform any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have
a) a Bachelor’s degree or a higher diploma in Computer Science, Information System or a related field;
b) relevant working experience in maintenance and installation of computer software;
c) good knowledge in programming language, web application technologies, such as PHP, Java, Ruby, CSS, Javascript, HTML/XML/XSLT, etc.;
d) demonstrated experience in web-based development and software integration;
e) good interpersonal and customer service skills; and
f) good communication skills in Chinese and English.
