Library Application Developer

Created: March 5, 2019

Description

The General Library System at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is looking for a library application developer to work in a team of software developers and server admins on backend applications, processes, and integrations.  Developers in our group have individual autonomy to design and build software central to the Libraries' mission in a friendly, good-humored, and supportive network of colleagues across the Library.

We offer a flexible work environment that is notable for its culture of excellent service to our patron communities both within and beyond the University.

The offices of our development group are located in Memorial Library at the foot of State Street. We are a short walk away from Memorial Union and the Terrace, Alumni Park, the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Chazen Museum of Art, and numerous shops and restaurants along State Street.

The Libraries at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are dedicated to the practices of social justice, diversity, equality, and respect among our staff, students, collections, and services. We strive to overcome historical and divisive biases in our society and embrace diverse points of view as assets to the fabric of our community. All positions will be called on to contribute to building this environment.
