Web Application Developer
Description
The Beinceke Library is hiring a Web Application Developer. As a member of the Beinecke Library Technology department, the Web Application Developer support our expanding digital exhibits program will take a leading role in the ongoing development, maintenance, and/or production deployment of new and existing web applications & platforms, with a focus on web applications designed for use in our exhibits program.
The Web Application Developer will work with a variety of data and metadata formats and will be collaborating closely with colleagues in other Library departments as well as any number of stakeholders throughout the Beinecke Library. The Web Application Developer is comfortable working both alongside other developers as a part of a larger sprint (whether at Yale or as a part of a larger open-source community project) and also as the sole developer on a smaller project. The Web Application Developer is also expected to represent the Beinecke and its technology initiatives at conferences and events and will maintain close ties with open-source communities when appropriate.
The Web Application Developer will work closely with the Beinecke’s IT Project Manager to analyze, design, develop, and deploy new systems, and also guides discussions on application lifecycle management, code review, and champions documentation strategies based on industry standards and best practices.
