Senior Technical Information Specialist in the Library Technology Services Section, Technical Services Division, Library Operations, National Library of Medicine (NLM)

You will have an opportunity to shape the future of NLM! NLM recently launched its strategic plan, NLM Strategic Plan 2017-2027: A Platform for Biomedical Discovery and Data-Powered Health<https://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/plan/lrp17/NLM_StrategicReport2017_2027.html>. A variety of implementation activities are underway and this position is expected to play a key role in enhancing information delivery of resources.

The Senior Technical Information Specialist leads project teams composed of a variety of members that manage NLM’s digital repository (NLM Digital Collections<https://collections.nlm.nih.gov/>). The position leverages technology to improve the accessibility and preservation of NLM collection resources and is in the forefront of implementing new technologies that enhance the public’s access to the NLM collection. The position may work with and deploy innovative commercial and open source technology to create sustainable and streamlined platforms for data discovery. The position works in a highly collaborative environment focused on providing a robust and reliable user experience.

This position is listed as a Technical Information Specialist GS-1412-13, with a salary range from $96,970 to $126,062 per year.
