Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.

Additional Department Summary: Duties of this position include but are not limited to 1) developing the QRIS Alabama Quality STARS website and maintaining/monitoring the website, and 2) developing a data management system and maintaining the system. The website must be interactive, have an online application and tracking, data collection, news bulletins, consistent updates, STAR postings for parents, Q&A for Early childhood programs and parents. Technical Support for the QRIS office will be provided by this position.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree ; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional technology skills or project management methods and applications. May require intermediate or advanced level training or certification.

Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, spreadsheets, and/or database. Ability to work well with diverse populations, strong organizational skills, and good oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred.
