Head of Collections & Resource Management
Kimbel Library at Coastal Carolina University welcomes applications for a Head of Collections & Resource Management to help develop a vision for the 21st century academic library. This is a 12-month tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Librarian level.
Reporting to the University Librarian, the Head of Collections and Resource Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Collections & Resource Management department including monographs and serials in all formats, electronic resources management, collections budget management, and cataloging in all formats. The Head provides vision, leadership, and management of the library's electronic and physical collections and the technical services department. The Head works collaboratively with library administration, other units within the library, and departments across campus to deliver user-centered and collaborative leadership to the development of the library's information resources.
Required: An MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution is required. Candidates must have five years' experience in academic libraries including supervisory experience and a track record of increasing responsibility. Other required qualifications include demonstrated experience with collection development, the electronic resources lifecycle, issues related to access and discovery of electronic products, and strong budgeting background and interpersonal skills. Ability and interest in fulfilling tenure and promotion requirements for job performance, scholarship, professional development, and service.
Preferred: Experience working with electronic resources management systems (ERMS), Knowledge of metadata schema, experience using surveys or other assessment instruments; and a proven track record of innovation.
