Description

The Department of Research in the Syracuse University Libraries at Syracuse University is seeking to hire an Open Publishing/Institutional Repository Coordinator.

Under direction of the Open Publishing/Collections Librarian, this position provides project management for the Libraries’ open publishing and related services (copyright, etc.) to the University. It contributes significantly to day-to-day maintenance work, including ingest, for SURFACE (the University’s open-access institutional repository) as a first priority and helps support publishing projects under the SU Unbound imprint (joint Libraries/Press).

The position assists with any project workflows related to or arising from the Libraries’ Digital Library Program that involve open publishing. The position serves as a point of contact for University patrons and performs initial triage on queries related to all open publishing services. The position supports backend open publishing technologies and serves as a point of contact for external vendors whose products are in use for open publishing services. The position aids the Open Publishing Librarian and Research Data Librarian in developing and delivering workshops and related instruction/outreach to the campus regarding the Libraries’ open publishing and research data services.
