Description
The University Libraries at Western Michigan University seeks candidates for the tenure-track, fiscal-year position of Research Data and Government Information Librarian.
This position collaborates with other units across the WMU community to develop and provide coordinated support for research data management and curation that is responsive to local needs. The Research Data and Government Information Librarian provides consultation and reference services on finding and using data and government information sources, builds awareness and support for managing data and educates the community on best practices for data collection, management and preservation. The position also serves as the WMU Libraries Government Documents depository coordinator, managing the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) collection and selection profile, currently selecting 50% of available items, and developing preservation and management plans for materials and collections.
A master’s degree from a graduate program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) and relevant professional experience are required.
