Description

Portland Community College seeks an innovative and detail-oriented Library Web Applications Developer to create, maintain, and improve library web applications.  This position ensures the accessibility and usability of the library website and integrates many technology platforms used by the library.

  • Provides lead technical support and management of the library's website. Serves as the technical lead managing the library website’s content management system, WordPress, including custom themes and plugins, with a focus on responsive design and accessibility.  Coordinates system upgrades, troubleshoots functional and performance issues, and provides assistance and support to staff and users concerning the library’s systems.  Designs and develops web applications in both development and production environments. Requires proficiency with PHP-based content management systems, HTML, and CSS.
  • Supports integrated library system.  As a member of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, PCC currently uses Ex Libris’s Alma/Primo in a consortial installation.  The Library Web Applications Developer is responsible for configuring and maintaining the library’s Primo instance and for performing other aspects of systems administration in Alma/Primo, including integration with college information and authentication systems.  

Minimum qualifications:  Associate's degree in a computer-related discipline required (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).
