Title: Digitial Initiviatives Program Manager
Overview: Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for the Digital Library, the Digital Initiatives Program Manager leads the Library in both on-going and future development of a comprehensive program to generate, manage and preserve born-digital and digital surrogates, and to build value-added services on top of these digital assets. The incumbent manages digital programs and services including needs assessments; converts legacy collections from analog to digital format; manages born-digital assets; develops and adheres to digital library standards and best practices; surveys the digital scholarship landscape to monitor trends in the use of digital assets; and ensures the creation of metadata to support perpetual access to and preservation of digital assets. The Digital Initiatives Program Manager collaborates with various Library departments, vendors and other stakeholders on the planning and implementation of project design, digitization workflows, and file transfer into content and delivery systems. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in an innovative, deeply collaborative environment, and has strong knowledge of digitization best practices, and practical familiarity with scripting languages and database technology.
