Duties
Serves as one of the Army Library Program's expert system librarians supporting the enterprise integrated library system application. Shares System Librarian responsibilities with a small team including, but not limited to monitoring all integrated library system functionality, supporting communications with vendor, other system library personnel, IT/network personnel and local Garrison personnel, understanding, maintaining assuring security of the application and data maintained on the application. Planning for future technology and implementing new technologies, assesses current status of library automation anticipating future requirements and implementing long-range automation plans. Lead System responsibilities for this position include: developing with IT and Information Assurance required documentation for use by new installation library personnel to obtain accounts for the network and the integrated system; trouble shooting network connectivity issues with libraries and MWR IT support; coordinating information assurance requirements; assisting installation libraries in the implementation of third party software such as Envisionware and RFID; training installation library personnel on the integrated library system application an associated applications; integrating commercial vendor databases and applications by authorizing to the patron database; maintaining web presence; assisting in the emigration of new libraries to the enterprise application; creating reports from the integrated library system. Participates in the devilment of contract requirements, statements of work and monitors contractor performance. Collects and analyses statistics on data and usage. Contributes to the development of policies and procedures. Designs and conducts training, briefing and demonstrations coordinates with and assists libraries and library users via phone, mail, electronic messaging, team sites and onsite visits. Assists senior library program manager with Army wide policies, standards and directives.
