Tisch Library at Tufts University is looking for an innovative, service-oriented librarian to be part of our Cataloging and Metadata Services team.  Reporting to the Assistant Director for Technical Services you will be part of a collaborative team that develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures to promote the growth of metadata services in support of digital scholarship at the University.

Ideally, you will have experience creating and maintaining metadata, a solid knowledge of established and emerging metadata standards (MARC, Dublin Core, MODS), strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with markup languages such as HTML5 and XML, and XML editing software such as Oxygen is a plus. 

Responsibilities include providing metadata for digital content in various formats; providing evaluation and implementation of metadata best practices for managing library digitization projects; and acting as a resource for providing training and awareness relating to the creation and use of metadata records.

Tisch Library supports Tufts’ School of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering.  The Technical Services Department provides support for the creation, management and preservation of scholarship.  The department cultivates teamwork and collaborative relationships within and outside Tisch Library to provide high-quality resources and services for your users.  Tisch Library is on the Medford/Somerville campus, just outside Cambridge, MA and with proximity to all that the Boston Metro area has to offer.
