IT System Administrator PositionFull-Time, Permanent
Company background: George Blood. L.P. is a nationally recognized provider of services to the library, archives, and museum communities. Those services include recording of live performances and CDs; and the preservation digitization of sound and moving image recordings on obsolete or deteriorating media.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain code to enable digital preservation workflows
- Manage back-ups of production and in-house data
- Oversee network user accounts using Mac OS X Server
- Administer user email accounts using Google Business Apps
- Troubleshoot problems with network profiles as they arise (broken Keychains, file/folder permissions, Mail app, chat app, etc)
- Manage internal and external file access (AFP, SMB, NFS, FTP)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, WW)
- Deploy network equipment (Ethernet and Fibre Channel)
- Image computer operating systems and deploy new computers
- Troubleshoot computer hardware and software
- Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and licenses
- Keep computer software up-to-date and run preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot performance and manage storage space on StorNext SAN
Education and skills:
- 3-5 years experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
Additional qualifications preferred, but not required:
- Scripting in Python, AppleScript, bash, or similar
- Familiarity with Desktop Audio and Video Technology and Preservation Practices
- Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC)
- CompTIA Network +
Schedule & Rate:
- Monday-Friday, 8-4
- Compensation commensurate with experience
- Available for after hours support
