Roberts Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time, 11-month Emerging Technologies Development Librarian, available January 2016.  This academic support faculty position is responsible to the Director of Library Services for envisioning, designing and implementing new tools, technology services and infrastructures. The Emerging Technologies Development Librarian optimizes and enhances content delivery tools, services and application infrastructures.  Responsibilities include providing technical & project leadership for development & full utilization of established library technologies & systems and overseeing the design, development & implementation of new technology. Requirements include a graduate degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program, preferably with technology emphasis; a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support and identify with the College’s Christian mission and identity.  Successful candidate must have evidence of proficiency with library systems administration, library software applications, web site design/development, electronic resource management, and library applications of social technology.  Evidence of proficiency with such programming languages and coding systems as UNIX, SQL, html, and xml is an asset.  Professional-level library work experience desirable, preferably in an academic library.
