Description
The University Library at Sonoma State University has an opening for a Library Systems Director. This is a great job for someone ready for that next challenge. Our ideal candidate has expertise in people as much as systems. We need someone who enjoys leading people and projects, works well with others, can help us think through workflow changes, and can also be part of the effort to determine how our 15-year-old library, designed in the 20th century, can meet 21st-century needs. The Library Systems Director will also be joining us at the startup phase of a migration to a new library management system to be shared by all 23 libraries in the Cal State system — an exciting project but one where we need leadership and decision-making.
The University Library is in essence what the Sonoma State University CIO calls “his largest managed lab,” so we in the Library need someone who thinks collaboratively across departmental lines and can also think programmatically and futuristically about deploying and managing a large IT footprint.
We are a great group of people to work with, located in a beautiful area just one hour north of San Francisco and surrounded by vibrant communities as well as areas of great natural beauty. If we’ve caught your attention, please visit the SSU jobs site to apply. Select job ID number 104034.
