Digital Initiatives Librarian & Instructor | Assistant Professor, Courtright Memorial Library
Otterbein University, a comprehensive liberal arts institution in the suburban Columbus area, invites applications for a non-tenure track position in the library. We are seeking a visionary librarian to advance our digital initiatives, such as the Digital Commons@Otterbein http://digitalcommons.otterbein.edu/.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Library Director, this librarian will provides leadership, management and policy and planning activities for the campus-wide digitization projects and digital initiatives. He/she will work collaboratively to plan and implement best practices for the collection development of scholarly works and for their preservation, accessibility, usability and usage analysis within the determined system architecture. This position will partner campus-wide in efforts related to data management. He/She will have reference responsibilities, serve as a library liaison to assigned departments and is responsible for teaching library instruction sessions.
Qualifications: MLS/MLIS from ALA-accredited program required for the rank of Assistant Professor: candidates seeking terminal degree (MLS/MLIS) will be considered at the rank of Instructor. The successful candidate will possess the following preferred experience; project management, data analysis, academic library experience, online education, and a strong awareness of scholarly communication and digital scholarship. Preferred candidates will also have experience with; collection development, policy making and implementation, campus and department liaising, digital innovations, supervisory experience, classroom teaching experience, and reference.
