Concordia College is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented Systems and Web Services Librarian who will have primary responsibility for the library’s technology infrastructure, including the LMS, electronic resources management, digital collections, the discovery layer, and related tools.

The successful candidate will cooperate with campus partners in Communications and IT to integrate library systems within the campus technology environment, particularly its fiscal, student, course management, and content management systems.

The successful candidate will oversee the technical aspects of library systems across functional areas including acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, serials, digital collections, and metadata.

The successful candidate will work in collaboration with other library staff to maximize the usability of services and tools on the library website to support teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will take a leadership role in implementing, integrating, and evaluating emerging technologies and services as they pertain to the library.

Standard duties of all librarians include providing reference service and library instruction, serving as liaison to one or more academic divisions, selecting library materials, participating in division meetings, and participating in library orientation as needed.

The Carl B. Ylvisaker Library maintains a complex array of integrated systems, resources, and services in support of the teaching, learning, and research of our students and faculty. Within the tradition of the liberal arts, Concordia College is pursuing initiatives in integrative learning, online learning, and digital humanities, presenting the library with the opportunity to apply emerging technologies to improve the student experience.

This 10-month Faculty position will begin January 2016.

Minimum Qualifications
•ALA-accredited master’s degree or equivalent
•Experience working with library systems
•Knowledge of database structures, creation, application and maintenance
•Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies
•A strong commitment to user services
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Commitment to working in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in an online learning environment
•STEM background
•Reference and instruction experience
•Academic library experience
•Knowledge of web design and scripting languages
