Description

Contributes progressive ideas to the delivery of reference and information services. Provides library users with assistance and instruction on locating information and using software, both face-to-face and via multiple electronic channels. Works with faculty to enhance instruction and collection development in ways that meet curriculum needs. Participates in weeding, selection, and organization of the collection. Participates in basic troubleshooting of computers in the Reference Unit. Required: ALA-accredited master’s degree by September 1, 2015. Experience or significant coursework in academic reference services, including theory, reference tools and the processes of research; experience in instruction, and knowledge of pedagogical theory and practice. Desired: One year reference experience in an academic library; experience in creating web-based content, and familiarity with basic web design principles, including usability and accessibility.
