The Orbis Cascade Alliance seeks applications for the new position of Program Manager to oversee, coordinate, develop and assess the Discovery and Delivery Program, consisting of discovery systems and services, chiefly but not exclusively the Ex Libris discovery system, and delivery systems and services, chiefly the Summit service based on Ex Libris Alma and Primo integrated library system, used by all member libraries.Duties and Responsibilities: Guided by the consortium’s mission, vision, values, and strategic agenda, work is non-routine and requires a creative approach to program management and leadership. This position is expected to exercise great latitude in determining organizational process associated with large, complex, distributed, and high-profile projects. Program managers are expected to: lead or otherwise participate in new initiatives; maintain an awareness of all Alliance programs and take active steps to communicate with other programs and help coordinate activities across the consortium; propose and monitor program budget; travel frequently within the Northwest region and at least twice yearly within the U.S.; and engage in professional activities that develop professional skills and enhance the profile and operations of the Alliance.
Specific duties include: Discovery: oversee the development and advancement of the Alliance’s shared use of Primo, with an emphasis on standardized configuration, training, and documentation that promote efficiency and patron usability across Alliance member libraries; Delivery: oversee the development and advancement of the Summit system, with an emphasis on standardized configuration, training, and documentation that promote efficiency and patron usability across Alliance member libraries; serve as lead worker setting direction and priorities for Alliance staff overseeing the courier system; propose and monitor program budget. Work with the Business Manager to monitor payments, receipts, invoicing, and cash flow; with the Events Coordinator on meetings, travel, and logistics; and with Systems Program staff on the development and support of systems and information technology that support the Discovery & Delivery Program. Reports to the Executive Director.
