This position will be responsible for organizing, curating, optimizing, and preserving the team’s historic images and other club digital assets.  It will also be responsible for key-wording and uploading historical images and other digital assets into H5, the team’s central digital archive and coordinating the retention and digital preservation of a variety of important club assets.  Furthermore, responsible for the basic digital image editing, photo altering, and basic image illustration services to support the Cardinals Communications Department.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Responsible for working through a backlog of historical images and other important club digital assets, assigning meta-data to the image files, and uploading
  • Evaluate photographic images for preservation and retention by editing, enhancing, or optimizing the images with digital imaging software
  • Maintain a functional record-keeping system including: develop procedures for digital file retention, maintain a master index on the central photo share, catalogue image collections on central photo share, and perform other digital archive conservation and records management tasks
  • Organize the central photo share directory that is the repository of all images within the clubs possession
  • Weed out poor or redundant images
  • Assist digital archive users on how to best access, use, and interpret archives
  • Work with interdepartmental team to develop the clubs digital archive
  • Assist Communications Department with basic graphic and photo illustration, graphics design, imaging, photography, and video production
  • Help coordinate the scanning, digitization, and archiving of important club assets such as documents, audio files, video files, photos, and graphics
  • Assist Department with social media duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor of Arts in Archiving, Library Science, Digital Imaging, Photography, Design or related discipline
  • 2 years experience archiving images, organizing, or archiving digital born assets
  • 2 years experience digitizing physical assets
  • Experience in maintaining a photo archive or digital asset management system
  • Highly organized

  • Analytical in thinking and meticulous in maintaining information using detailed record-keeping systems that require metadata
  • Excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Arts in Archiving, Library Science, Digital Imaging, Photography, Design
  • 3-5 years work experience in archival services or digital asset management
  • Experience in restoring photos, editing images, conducting graphic design, and working in photography
  • Proficient in H5, Extensive Portfolio, or other digital asset management archive systems
  • Technical proficiency in both PC and Mac Platforms
  • Highly organized
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly creative
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Analytical in thinking and meticulous in maintaining information using detailed record-keeping systems that require metadata
  • Excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the importance of club photographic images and documents
  • Knowledge of baseball
