Description
The Resource Delivery Librarian provides leadership in planning, developing and managing resource delivery services. The incumbent reports to the Head of Access and Discovery and will help chart the library's long-range plans for identifying, implementing and evaluating new or enhanced resource delivery services.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implements pertinent ILLiad features, including developing local Add-ons to increase ILL workflow efficiency.
2. Maintains ILLiad online request forms and applies local customizations. Troubleshoots software and equipment issues related to resource delivery
3. Provides leadership in planning and implementation of resource delivery services including Course Reserves. Ensures that all internal and external service commitments are routinely met
4. Develops best practices in resource delivery services
5. Maintains an awareness of trends and developments and actively pursues innovations in resource sharing, document delivery, and copyright law as it pertains to resource sharing.
6. Participates in cross functional campus or Library teams and participates in professional growth activities
7. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• An MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited institution at the time of appointment is required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in Interlibrary Loan workflow
• Thorough understanding of ILLiad
• Knowledge of MS Access and SQL
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and planning skills
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and work effectively in a team environment
• Strong commitment to service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Staff supervisory experience
• Demonstrated experience in project management
• Experience with ILLiad Add-on and Lua
• Experience with Docine and OCLC
• Experience with Blackboard environment
• Experience with Course Reserves
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Experience in Interlibrary Loan workflow
• Experience with Course Reserves
• Thorough understanding of ILLiad
• Staff supervisory experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May work around standard office conditions. May work some night, weekend, or holiday hours. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. This is a non-tenure position.
