Description

The Cary Graphic Arts Collection at Rochester Institute of Technology seeks a Project Archivist to process, arrange, and describe a recently acquired collection related to typeface and logotype design. This is a grant-funded, full-time, four-month appointment.

DUTIES:
  • Project Archivist will create a processing plan, and is responsible for the arrangement, housing, and description of the Ed Benguiat Collection.
  • Project Archivist will create an item-level DACS compliant finding aid using Archivists Toolkit.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous experience in processing and describing archival collections following national standards and best practices.
  • Experience using Archivists Toolkit or other archival data management systems.
Required Minimum Education Level
  • BS
  • BFA
  • BA
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in library science or archival studies preferred, but not required, as well as a background in graphic design history.
