Cal Poly’s ACRL award-winning Kennedy Library invites applications for the tenure-track faculty position of Engineering Librarian. The successful candidate will be an innovative librarian who enjoys working closely with faculty to foster 21st century information skills in a multidisciplinary “learn by doing” university environment.

As a member of the Cal Poly faculty and working with a team of talented and collaborative librarians, staff, and student assistants, the Engineering Librarian will play a key role in supporting the learning and research needs of engineering students and faculty at the College of Engineering (CENG) in a selective, multidisciplinary polytechnic environment. Additional responsibilities include: providing instruction and developing instructional resources to support College and campus learning outcomes; developing and managing library information resources to support engineering; and participating in new and ongoing projects involving data services, scholarly communication, and other library initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in information services and resources to support engineering disciplines and professions; enjoy working closely with faculty and students; and will have demonstrated skills in instruction as well as the use of technology to meet student and faculty information needs.

This full-time, tenure-track position is available at the Senior Assistant or Associate Librarian level, with an anticipated hiring range of $61,000-$70,000. Appointment rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. For appointment at the Senior Assistant Librarian rank, three to five years of relevant library experience is required. For appointment at the Associate Librarian rank, six or more years of relevant academic library experience is required.
