Woodbury University invites applications for the position of Systems Librarian. The Systems Librarian holds a leadership role in the planning, development, and management of the library’s technological infrastructure, electronic resources, and web presence in support of learning, teaching, and research. This is a full-time faculty position reporting to the University Librarian. Within a team environment, shared responsibilities include instruction in credit-bearing information literacy courses, reference, collection development, and outreach to faculty and students.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MLS, or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited program. Three years’ experience in a library setting, preferably in an academic library. Experience with the administration of integrated library systems; knowledge of web design and usability principles; demonstrated web development ability. Commitment to the promotion of a culture of outstanding public service in a learner-centered environment; strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication and supervisory skills. Interest in evolving information technologies, particularly as applied to discovery and access tools, and integrated library systems. Demonstrated ability to meet Woodbury University’s requirements for faculty contract renewal and promotion through excellence in librarianship, professional and scholarly activity, and University service.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of OCLC WMS integrated library system; liaison experience with database vendors; cataloging experience. Experience in teaching credit-bearing courses; collection development experience or background in psychology, film, or design fields such as graphic design, animation, game design or fashion design.
SALARY: Faculty rank and salary is commensurate with academic preparation and professional experience; expected range $57,000 - $75,000. Benefits include life, health, and dental insurance; TIAA/CREF; vacation and sick leave; tuition remission.
