The University of Arkansas Libraries seek experienced public service-oriented candidates for the position of User Experience Librarian.  Through the use of innovative approaches and emerging technologies, the User Experience Librarian will design new and expanded programs in a collaborative environment to provide quality user-centered services and programs that meet the needs of the University community.  Reporting to the Director for Academic and Research Services, this position will provide leadership and oversight for User Experience services which will include the primary functions of reference desk and virtual reference services, print and electronic reserves, current periodicals and microforms, and circulation services.

Qualifications.  Required:  A master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program; five years of library experience; demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience; excellent communication skills; and demonstrated experience or knowledge of the following: delivery of user services, issues related to service of microforms, issues related to copyright and academic dishonesty, and analysis and assessment.  Preferred: Experience managing the circulation module of an automated library system, learning management systems, or other technology related to access and reference services; demonstrated knowledge of trends in access and reference services; experience in strategic planning; and experience working in access services or reference services.

Rank and Salary:  Tenure-track, twelve-month faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Librarian / Associate Professor.  Salary: $65,000.
