Description
Cameron University Library seeks a proactive, outgoing, change- and technology-oriented librarian to develop, promote, and improve the library’s instruction and assessment programs. The person who fills this position will visit campus faculty members in person in order to provide information about its web-based instruction offerings. He or she will use Blackboard to teach research skills and to assess student learning that occurs as a result of student participation in both classroom- and computer-based library instruction. The Librarian for eLearning, Assessment, and Evaluation will develop instructional library and information literacy instructional tutorials and videos. This librarian will facilitate activities designed to measure patron satisfaction with the library’s services and electronic and physical facilities and will work with other librarians to evaluate the results and use them for planning purposes. Together with five other librarians, he or she will participate in reference desk and classroom instruction activities on a rotational basis that includes some evening and weekend work. This is a twelve-month, full-time position.Minimum Qualifications:
ALA accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree by December 2012; experience using online course software; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated leadership skills; working knowledge of American Library Association Information Literacy Competency Skills for Higher Education; teaching experience and/or successful completion of formal education focused on teaching methodologies; demonstrated ability to understand and embrace emerging library-related software programs and technologies; enthusiasm for electronic-based learning. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with and/or classroom-based knowledge of general evaluation, assessment, and planning methods and strategies; experience creating instructional videos and/or tutorials.
Salary Range: 42,000 - 45,000
