Description:
Working under the direction of the Coordinator, Digital Scholarship Unit, the Content Management Technician will support the development of digital collections, digital research projects, and tasks associated with life cycle management of digital assets at the Library at UTSC. Configuration of the Unit’s content management systems (including Islandora, Drupal, Solr, FedoraCommons, and Wordpress (Commons in a Box) will be done by the Content Management Technician in keeping with the requirements of projects, and as guided by the project management practices of the unit, in keeping with best practices for access and stewardship.
Qualifications:
(Minimum Qualifications)
Education:
University degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Four years of related professional experience. Two years’ experience configuring content management systems such as Drupal, FedoraCommons, Islandora, and Wordpress.
Skills:
Intermediate computer/ software skills essential (i.e. content management systems, image manipulating software, productivity software (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases), Oxygen (XML manipulation), (particularly open-source). Strong problem solving and organizational skills. Front-end programming using Javascript, PHP and data manipulation using tools such as XSLT or Xquery and cURL.
Other:
Ability to set appropriate priorities and work independently on assigned tasks. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work within a team environment with other library and non-library professional staff. Flexibility in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated enthusiasm for technology, particularly emerging technologies.

Appointment Type: Budget - Continuing
Schedule: Full-time
Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW11 -- $59,051 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $75,515. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
