Description
The McCabe Library is seeking a customer service-oriented user technology services specialist to join its Public Services group and partner with the ITS Client Services Team. The position resides in the Libraries and reports to the Head of Access and Lending Services in the Libraries with a dotted line to the Head of Client Services in Information Technology Services. S/he is responsible for providing all technical support for public computing in the three main libraries as well as in the Black Cultural Center. This work includes, but is not limited to, assistance to users of desktop and mobile devices, printing, scanning, multimedia equipment and microforms equipment. The User Technology Support Specialist is also responsible for installing, configuring and troubleshooting software and hardware issues that arise. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in information technology services; Strong technical skills in Windows and Macintosh, basic skills in networked and wireless technologies and experience in troubleshooting of computer hardware, printers, scanners, mobile technologies; Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; Must be proactive in his/her approach to customer service; Swarthmore College actively seeks and welcomes applications from candidates with exceptional qualifications, particularly those with demonstrable commitments to a more inclusive society and world.
